Platform Matting Required a Cooperative Approach

Case Study

Challenge

On a recent plant tour of a facility in excess of 250,000 sq ft, a rep from a distributor partner of ours noticed a potential challenge - the customer had multiple elevated platforms to

bring employees closer to engagement points. The hard platforms’ surface is tough on the body. Many employees complained of joint pain, even with company provided orthotic

insoles. This customer had tried a few anti-fatigue mats with no luck, so the rep decided to bring us in to see what we could do to improve working conditions.

“Our platform solution is a testament to Safe-Flex’s ability to improve workplace safety with long-term, supportive solutions in industrial matting. It’s equally a statement to the support they provide to their distribution partners.”

Solution

On our inspection, Safe-Flex was about to show how we can custom fit our modular tiles to platforms complete with edges to ensure safe on and off traffic. The customer started with a

few trial areas.

  • Making grated work surfaces more comfortable while supporting required safety initiatives is not new to us.

  • Our patented floor system is not limited by custom platforms, or unique work surfaces.

  • All 11 platformed work spaces were finished with the Safe-Flex Floor System.

  • Nearly 50% of the industrial matting on the customer’s floor has been switched to Safe-Flex and the rest will follow as needed.
